Are you good candidate for Liposuction?

People often wonder they will benefit from liposuction or not, or whether they are good candidate for it? To answer this question, I simply tell them that If you follow a healthy lifestyle (regular exercise + healthy diet) and still have some isolate fatty areas in your body that don't go away (such as tummy bulge or thighs or arms) then liposuction can be really helpful. But it is definitely not suitable for people who are overweight or looking for weight-loss because LIPOSUCTION IS NOT A WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY. The goal of liposuction is get you rid from bulges of stubborn fatty areas that do not respond to diet and exercise.

A Tummy Bulge is Inevitable with Age, Weight gain and Childbirth. But How can you get Rid of It?

As a woman, there comes a time in your life when you realize that efforts at dieting and exercise are not changing the appearance of your sagging and protruding belly, even men in their 30-40s notice a pot belly coming that refuses to budge with diet or exercise alone. This is a very common problem, especially in women after childbirth- a bulge tummy is more likely to develop, no matter how slender or fit you may be otherwise. Men cannot exclude from this as it’s a general tendency with Indian men that they develop a pot belly in their late 30 or early 40s and almost 90 percent of Indian women (whether they are married or not) have their lower abdomen slightly bulging out that never settles down completely. The worst part of this genetic fat collection pattern is when you start gaining weight with time even in your early twenties, fat starts to collect in your waist-line very fast making this area protruded like -4 months' pregnant women or having a “food-baby” inside that is certainly an undesirable thing. This problem can affect your overall lifestyle and many times self confidence is marred by the disproportionate contours of waistline. As a result, you start feeling conscious and hesitate wearing outfits that highlight your waist; even many women wear the skirts and saree above the waist to hide the bulge and men fail to hide their tummy bulge in fitted T-shirts so all you do is bid adieu to such popular clothing. But is there anything that can help to budge that tummy bulge and make your clothes fit you again? The answer is Yes, actually this is the ideal situation for Tummy-tuck because your tummy requires some extra help to fix all three layers (abdominal fat, muscles and loose skin).

People often say that they have No Time for Exercise because they are too busy. Well, if you’re not determined for an active and healthy lifestyle, then nothing on earth can help you with reduction of fat because healthy diet and regular exercise is not an option to excuse but a lifestyle modification.”- Dr. R. K. Mishra.

Tummy tuck is only suitable for those who live a healthy lifestyle (regular exercise and healthy diet) because people who eat right and exercise regularly have good abdominal tone (and almost no fat in internal organs like intestines, liver or heart). Tummy-tuck cannot remove fat from internal organs, only diet and exercise can do that. It can remove the pockets of stubborn fat, loose skin and stretched muscles that refuse to get back their shape with diet or exercise but not helpful if you rely on this procedure completely.

Liposuction and Weight Loss

People often start watching their body weight right after liposuction and wonder why the numbers are not going down as they expect. First of all, it’s important to remember that liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure. Best for removing small pockets of fat, liposuction gives patients better body contour and a shapelier silhouette, but is not meant to help you lose pounds.
I tell patients to avoid the weighing scale for 1-2 month after surgery because the body is in healing mode from surgery stress and can cause you to retain water (which could translate to increased pounds). Once the body realizes you are fine the water will come off. Maintaining a balanced diet and following your doctor’s prescribed post-op instructions will also help you on the right track toward a healthy recovery.

Eliminate Those Little Imperfections of Your Body, Go for A Liposuction!

Liposuction assumes utmost importance for Indians considering their genetic predisposition to typical patterns of weight gain like Double chin, Belly Bags, Saddle Bags or Hip Bags. Liposuction can be an ideal way to address these problem areas. By specifically targeting the areas that bother you the most, it can help your body look amazing in many different places you mostly feel isolated fatty pockets. Liposuction may be performed by the best liposuction surgeon of your area on the abdomen, hips, thighs, calves, arms, buttocks, back, neck, face or enlarged male breast (gynecomastia). If you're happy overall with your body but the feeling of frustration over stubborn spots sounds all too familiar, it might be time to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Together, you can develop a treatment approach to make the most out of your existing assets, and eliminate those little imperfections for good. The patient must have realistic expectations and it comes flowing that satisfaction to the liposuction is closely tied to expectations. Obviously, a significant factor is the liposuction cost but more vital than price, however, is the standards of safety, privacy and the intensity of care provided before and after the procedure.
